Larger Custom Homes Are Less Forgiving of HVAC Shortcuts. We Don’t Take Any.
Homes in Shavano Park and Bentley Manor represent some of the finest residential architecture in San Antonio. Custom builds, complex zoned layouts, high ceilings, significant window exposure, elevated finishes throughout. These homes were designed and constructed without shortcuts — and they make HVAC shortcomings immediately obvious.
An improperly sized system in a home like this will short cycle, leaving humidity heavy and uncomfortable even when the thermostat reads correctly. An unbalanced duct system will leave certain zones consistently cooler or warmer than others regardless of what the equipment is doing. A system installed without proper load calculations will overwork from day one and fail prematurely.
Pepcal Heating & Air brings the precision these homes require — without the inflated pricing or high-pressure sales culture of large corporate HVAC operations. Family-owned, faith-based, and built on three generations of mechanical expertise.

AC Repair & Replacement in Shavano Park and Bentley Manor
We diagnose and repair all makes and models with a repair-first approach — we don’t walk into a service call looking for reasons to recommend replacement. If your system can be corrected correctly and cost-effectively, that’s what we’ll recommend. When replacement genuinely makes more financial sense, we’ll show you the actual numbers and explain the reasoning.
For AC installation in Shavano Park, we install premium Trane and Goodman variable-speed and inverter-driven systems — the technology that delivers the quiet operation, superior humidity control, and temperature consistency that custom homes demand. These systems modulate continuously based on real-time conditions rather than blasting on and off at full capacity, maintaining steady comfort throughout large, complex floor plans without the intrusive noise of single-stage cycling.
Every qualifying installation includes a 10-Year Parts Warranty, select 10-Year Unit Replacement coverage, lifetime warranty on motors and capacitors, and 0% APR financing for 60 months through GoodLeap. As a CPS Energy Trade Ally, we handle your rebate paperwork and apply qualifying rebates upfront at installation.
What Proper HVAC Service Actually Looks Like in a Custom Home
Getting it right in larger, architecturally complex homes requires more than selecting quality equipment. It requires a complete system evaluation before any recommendation is made:
Manual J load calculations specific to your home’s actual architecture — not a square footage estimate. Ductwork and zoning evaluation to identify any existing imbalances, leaks, or design issues that would limit a new system’s performance. Airflow analysis across every zone so every room receives what it needs. And the experience to recognize when a previous installation left problems that need to be corrected before new equipment goes in.
That’s the evaluation we perform before recommending anything. Every time.
Indoor Air Quality & Duct Optimization
In larger homes, ductwork complexity creates more opportunity for leakage, airflow imbalance, and accumulated debris that quietly degrade both comfort and air quality. Persistent dust despite regular maintenance, rooms that never quite reach the comfort of the rest of the home, humidity that feels heavier than it should — these are almost always duct issues, not equipment issues.
We provide professional duct cleaning, duct sealing, full duct redesign or replacement when the existing layout can’t be corrected, zone-by-zone airflow balancing, MERV 11–13 media filtration properly matched to your system’s airflow characteristics, and Air Scrubber by Aerus whole-home purification for households where air quality is a priority.
